Andrew Lucas London has continued to be recognised for its work with two further nominations for its home cinema design and smart home installations at the CEDIA 2018 awards – both for its recent flagship Elm Park project.

An incredible smart home property situated on its own estate, Elm Park is a marriage of tradition and technology, with beautiful oak panelling, labyrinth corridors and opulent rooms hiding away intelligent lighting and heating systems, high-end audio-visual equipment and clever automation.

In a property brimming with highlights, the beautiful library – complete with a full Steinway Lyngdorf Model C floor-standing speaker system – stands out. Other exceptional technological features include a temperature-controlled wine cellar, a smart glass ‘pantry’ that hides the food preparation area when privacy is desired, and an amBx controller in the pool and wellness area, which produces 3D sound-to-light effects that alter the RGB lighting in time with the music being played simultaneously on speakers both above and below the water.

Also nominated for a CEDIA Award is the property’s luxurious home cinema with a stunning 48 distinct audio channels. With three tiered rows of plush red velvet seating and a motorised curtain that can be drawn across the screen like in a traditional cinema, the space was designed to be more than just a cinema space, being able to handle multiple screen formats and sources, making it the perfect space not only for watching films, but also playing video games and listening to music.

With the client’s appreciation for high-quality audio, it was decided that a bespoke speaker system conceived by Andrew Lucas’ established acoustician (who previously oversaw the installation of the speaker system for the Fryderyk Chopin Institute) would be the best option.  The room is designed to offer all three immersive audio formats: Dolby Atmos, Auro 3D and DTS:X.

“We are quite rightly delighted that our Elm Park project has received not just one, but two award nominations in the 2018 edition of the CEDIA Awards,” states Krystian Zajac, chairman and founder of Andrew Lucas London. “CEDIA is rightly seen as the benchmark for the custom installation industry and we’re delighted to be finalists once again. All credit must go to the Andrew Lucas engineering team for their dedication and brilliance in bringing this complex and challenging project to fruition.”

Andrew Lucas London has enjoyed considerable success at CEDIA  previously, having won multiple awards in the 2012 and 2014 editions and being nominated in 2016 for its Hampstead project in London. More recently, the company has enjoyed international acclaim at the Mark of Excellence Awards at CES, not only winning in 2017 with its Hampstead and Kenwood smart home projects but also earning multiple accolades in 2018 for its Highbury smart home and home cinema installations.
